scan0002.jpgHello I am Dr.Nick, I'm an allergist. When a patient comes to me, the symptoms I see that means they are haveing an allergic reaction is that they might have hives, rashes, puffy skin, sore throat, horse voice etc. How I treat it is either A) avoid this food and rest, B) antihestamine or if severe enough an 'epipen". What an allergy is, is when the body comes into contact with a substance it prepares itself with antibodies. The next time the body comes into contact with this substance, the antidoies react, causeing the realse of histamine from cell tissue. Histamine is harmeless and is in animals and plants (fruits, veggies, nuts, etc.). But it triggers a series of dramtic reactions. To make along story short it makes the immune system over react.
